Sister Rosemarie Miller, 96, died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Marian Residence.
She was born on August 27, 1917 in Denton, Montana to John Samuel and Margaret (O’Donnell) Miller and was named Margaret Loretta.
In the fall of 1937 she went to Stella Niagara, New York, to enter the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity. She was professed as Sister Rosemarie on August 17, 1939. She then moved to Alliance and worked at St. Agnes Academy. From there she would work in St. Mary’s Hospital in Scottsbluff, St. Mary’s in O’Neill, NE and St. Frances Mission in South Dakota before returning to Alliance to receiver her nurses training at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She then worked in hospitals owned by the Sisters in Scottsbluff, Minot, ND and O’Neill, NE. She retired to Alliance in 1994.
She is survived by her cousin, Eileen Norton of West St. Paul, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Kathryn Barker and Sr. Doloretta Miller.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Marian Chapel with Father Lou Nollette officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Wake services will be Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Marian Chapel.
