Leonard L. “Lenny” Heckman, 74, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Heart Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado.
He was born April 2, 1942 in Alliance, Nebraska to Alfred S. and Bertha (Jines) Heckman.
Lenny graduated from Alliance High School in 1961. In 1969 he started his career with the Burlington Northern Railroad in Denver and worked for 33 years as a Carman / Wrecker Foreman. He resided in Denver his whole railroad career, retiring in 2002. He then returned to his birth place, Alliance in 2012.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Eagles.
He is survived by his children, Tracy (Kevin) Roberts of Sweet Home, OR, Troy Heckman of Lebanon, OR, and Kyle Heckman of Albany, OR. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Blake, Bryce, and Brenner Roberts, Ben (Sara) Heckman, Cierra Heckman, Jordan Heckman and Joshua Heckman; great grandchildren, Chayton Heckman and Mason Heckman; his brother Al (Georgia) Heckman of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date.
