Dr.  Jeffrey Scott Swanson, 54 of Goodyear, Arizona passed away peacefully on September 14, 2016, at the Abrazo West Campus Hospital in Goodyear, Arizona, after suffering complications from a massive heart attack which occurred on September 10, 2016.

Jeff was born on March 12, 1962, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Alliance, NE to Jack L. Swanson and Patsy L. (Fisher) Swanson of Hemingford, Nebraska.  Jeff is survived by his parents along with a sister, Jac-Lynn K. Swanson (Alliance, NE) and a brother, Jason P. Swanson (Jennifer) (Hemingford, NE). He is also survived by his fiancé, Stacey R. Adams (Goodyear, AZ) and sons, Russell “Walker” Swanson (Rapid City, SD), and Tanner L. Swanson (Goodyear, AZ); step daughters Kylie M. Adams (Goodyear, AZ), and Madison E. Adams (Rapid City, SD); four precious grandchildren, Brooklyn K. & Mikaila J. Thieschafer (Rapid City, SD),  Savannah A. Hamm (Rapid City, SD) and Parker J. Adams (Goodyear, AZ); maternal grandmother, Edna P. Fisher (Omaha, NE) and family friend Danny L. Stefka (Alliance, NE); along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeff was a 1980 graduate of Hemingford High School.  On April 17, 1982, he joined lives with Julie A. Frahm and from this marriage they shared two wonderful sons as previously mentioned.   Jeff’s love for family and farming led him to the decision to join his grandparents and parents on the family farm immediately after graduating from high school.  He remained in the Box Butte County area farming and ranching with his family until 1994.   It was at that time that he bravely began a new occupational journey to become a chiropractor.  Jeff began college at the age of 32, and graduated with honors with a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, IA in 2001.

Jeff and his family then moved to Rapid City, SD and established Swanson Chiropractic.  Dr. Jeff Swanson, affectionately known to his patients as “Dr. Jeff”, practiced the art of chiropractic with his healing hands at that location until April of 2016.  Recently, in April of 2016, Jeff achieved another lifelong dream as he and his fiancée, Stacey, had just moved to Goodyear, AZ, to start a new life together.

Jeff enjoyed his life to the fullest and was happiest spending time with his family and friends.  Some of his favorite things to do were riding his Harley, camping, fishing, hunting, grilling/cooking. He faithfully followed the sports of drag racing, NASCAR, the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Rockies and last but not least, the Nebraska Cornhuskers! He was a man that demonstrated great hope and faith through the hardest of times.  He will be greatly missed and his many acts of humble kindness will not be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Garland A. Fisher, and Loran E. and Florence E. (Beth) Swanson.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Multi-Purpose Hall at the Box Butte County Fairgrounds at Hemingford, NE. Casual dress is requested by the family. If you enjoy riding as much as Jeff did, the family invites you to ride your bike to the service and feel free to wear your favorite riding t-shirt.

Memorials may be sent to the family c/o Jac-Lynn Swanson, P.O. Box 151, Alliance, NE  69301.
