Dorothy Ann (Snedeker) Nason passed away, with her family at her side, at Regional West Medical Center on Monday, May 27, 2013.
She was born in Alliance on August 6, 1928, to Morton B. and Loretta (Collins) Snedeker. She attended and graduated from St. Agnes Academy and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
After graduating she worked as a bookkeeper at Mandleberg’s and later she was employed at Perrin Refrigeration.
Dorothy married Ben Nason on February 13, 1954. To this union was born four children, Debora, Sandra, Robert, and Michael. Dorothy was a very devoted wife, mother, and friend who touched lives with her unconditional love, care, and great sense of humor.
Dorothy was a member of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was involved with many Bible studies and activities of the church. Her love for children was portrayed through the many years that she taught CCD, leading children through their First Communion. She also served as a volunteer for the R.S.V.P. and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ben; her four children, Debbie (Gene) Edmunds of Windsor, CO, Sandi (Wayne) Nochi of Gering, Bob (Deb) Nason, and Mike (Shari) Nason of Alliance, eight grandchildren, Megan, Kim, and Kayla Nochi, Renee’ (Erick) Finch, Josh (Dannielle) Nason, Cody (Sarah) Christ, Hunter Christ, and Emily (Eduardo) Walmrath; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Wyatt, lan, and Lauren. She is also survived by her sister, Elma Kuntz of Marysville, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Morton and Loretta Snedeker, her sister Margaret Endicott, and her brother Jimmy Snedeker.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance with Father Lou Nollette officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. A wake service will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-5 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home and continue at the wake service.
