Helen D. Vickers, 90, of Hemingford, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Box Butte General Hospital.
She was born on April 9, 1925 at Buffalo, Nebraska to Fred and Sophie Heins.
On October 14, 1951 in Buffalo she was united in marriage to Dale Vickers. The couple moved to the Hemingford area in 1955 and farmed together south of Hemingford. She always enjoyed having a large garden every year and cooking.
She was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Steve) Loseke of Sidney, NE, her grandchildren, Brandon Dexter of Arvada, CO and Brittney Loseke of Selma, MN. She is also survived by her sister, Esther Gibbs of Kearney, NE, her sisters-in-law, Lola Heins of Gothenburg, NE and Ramona Heins of Des Moines, IA, Imogene Olsen of Bloomington, IL and Paula (Don) Sjostrom of Alliance along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sons, Gary, Larry and Jerry and her brothers, Martin, Art, Paul and Harold Heins.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Alliance with Reverend Martin T. Schnare and Reverend Richard C. Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Visitation will beThursday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Alliance.
Memorials may be given to the church or Hemingford Volunteer Firefighters Association.
