Charles Weston, 82, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2016, at home with loved ones at his side in Alliance, NE.
Charles was born September 17, 1933 to Clyde and Clara (Kirk) Weston at their home in Four Corners, South Dakota. He met the love of his life, Fay, while responding to a police call. They were married June 16, 1957 in Alliance, NE.
Charles was very involved in his church and community. He served 13 years as an Alliance police officer, and received many awards for his service. Once, he ran for Sheriff and lost by one vote. He was a lifetime member of the Alliance Fire Department, was the County Commissioner for 12 years, a member of the National Guard and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Charles owned his own cement plant, Weston Mobile Mix, for 35 years with his son Rod. Family was his pride and joy. He was a true patriarch and very loved by his family.
Charles is survived by his wife Fay (Corbell) Weston and his children, Rod Weston, Kim (Max) Galyen, Diana (Mark) Eck, Donna (Chad) Smith, Tim Weston all of Alliance, NE and Mike Weston of Fort Worth, TX. His stepmother, Edna Sanders Weston, Lexingon, NE, his sister, Anna Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, his brothers, Dr. Wayne (Lorie) Weston of Lexington, NE and Gary (Sharol) Weston of Castle Rock, CO, his grandchildren, Meagan (Klete) Shrewsbury, Brittany (Casey) King, Lyndsey (Kevin) Schrum, Travis and Clara Eck, Amber (Nick) Schulze, Josh (Angela) O’Leary, Amanda (Louis) Nigg, Tiaza Warden, Skye and Blake Smith and Chance, Chantel, and Chase Weston, along with 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Clara Weston, his brothers, Bobbie and David Weston, and his brother-in-law Bill Smith.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 21 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1327 Hammond Ln. Burial will be held at the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
