Pauline A. Steinman, 91, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Box Butte General Hospital.
She was born March 25, 1923 in Deuel County, near Chappell, NE. She was the fourth of 5 children born to Lucian and Anna (Glaubitz) Conrad. Pauline graduated from Chappell High School in 1941 and then came to Alliance. She worked at the Alliance Hotel and then at the Alliance Creamery and later at the Keep-U-Neat Cleaners.
On October 5, 1948 she was united in marriage to John W. “Jack” Steinman.
Pauline was a member of Holy Rosary Church and was active in the Altar Society for many years and a member of the church choir. She was also an Exemplar member of the Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and American Legion Auxiliary, a volunteer for the Knight Museum, Parks Foundation and R.S.V.P. and a former leader of Boy Scouts and Blue Birds.
She is survived by her son and his family, Steven Steinman and Linda Jines of Alliance, grandchildren, Casey (Jessica) Steinman of Las Cruces, NM; Courtney (Eric) Cardiff of Morrill, NE, Kelly Steinman of Alliance and Kyle (Samantha) Steinman of Alliance, 12 great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Jessica & Price McDonald of Fort Lupton CO, Samantha and Bryce Whitaker and Tyler Jines of Alliance. She is also survived by her sister, Doriene Morris of Broken Bow, NE and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Donald Conrad and her sisters, Doris Johnson and Lucille Perkins.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father John Kakkuzhiyil officiating. Inurnment will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Wake services will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church.
Memorials may be given to the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department or Knight Musuem.
