ANNA MARIE CROUSE PASSES AWAY AT 96

Obit Flowers ImageAnna Marie Crouse, age 96, died January 7, 2015 at the Pioneer Rest Home, Mullen. She was born on the homestead south of Mullen, February 10, 1918 to Louis and Mary (Hemcal) Neal, the fifth of seven children. The family moved to Mullen and she attended Mullen schools graduating high school in 1936.

She worked as a housekeeper/maid at various ranches in the area. She married George W. Crouse in 1941. They lived most of their married lives in Ashby, raising four children. They moved to Mullen in 1993 after George retired. They were married 61 years at his death in 2002. Anna has been a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Rest Home since 2006.

Anna is survived by daughters Rosemary (Hugo) Weber, Peoria, Illinois, Gerogann (Larry) French and Jo (Dick) Macke of Mullen, eleven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also survived by sisters, Regina Brewer of Colorado and Dorothy Johnston, Mullen.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband George Crouse, brothers Joseph, Francis, Alois, infant Peter and James, infant sister Alicia, and a son, Louis (John) Crouse.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 12 at 10:00 AM MST at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mullen. Burial will be in Cedarview Cemetery, Mullen. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-5 PM MST at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rosary will be Sunday, January 11, at 5:00 PM MST at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pioneer Memorial Rest Home or the Hooker County Historical Museum. Mullen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, 308-546-2260.
