On any day you could hear the name “Bea”, “Mom”, “Grandma” or “Grammy” and it brought a smile to her face!

On April 20th at Ponderosa Villa in Crawford Nebraska Bea passed away at the young age of 76.

She was born May 1st, 1936 in Crawford NE to Effie and Clayton Barker and lived near Ash Creek.   Bernard and Viola Rising later raised her due to the loss of her own parents.

In Crawford she was a waitress, nurses aid, a rancher and then upon moving to Chadron she became a daycare provider and owned her own business called “Bea’s Daycare” where she en-lighted any child in her care.  Those whom she took care of still talk about all the good times they had while there. In her spare time she even sold Avon products.

Family and friends were everything to her.  Any chance she got she would speak to her friends and the kids on the phone and couldn’t wait for them to get home for a visit.  She enjoyed watching the wildlife early in the mornings, loved reading, watching old western movies, drinking coffee, and enjoying the occasional donut.  Anything dealing with being outside was a must from the 4th of July family reunions with her much requested fried chicken and cheesecake to watching early morning sunrises.  Any one whom Bea knew always had a fond memory.  She put a smile on everyone’s face and always had a smile to give back both on her face and in her heart.

Survivors include three sons and one daughter.  Dal Semroska of Omaha NE, Curt Semroska of Rapid City, SD, Calvin Semroska of Chadron, NE and Kari Harty of Norfolk, VA.  Three sisters and one brother to include Lillian Grimm, WY Clayton “Junior” Barker and wife Ellen NE, Carol Stull, WY. Lela Weaver, OK. She also had 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son Clay Semroska.

Visitation will be April 23rd, 2013 from 1 pm to 5 pm at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron NE.  Services will also be held at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron April 24th, 2013 at 1:30 pm.  Tentative at 4pm a get together will be held at the Eagles Club in Crawford, Nebraska.  Thursday, April 25th immediate family only will then travel to Montrose Cemetery for burial and a small service.
