Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 26th at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ Community Church in Crawford, NE with Pastors Steve Mallery and Mary McDowell-Thompson. Burial will be at the Crawford Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel in Crawford.
Reba Rose (Hamaker) Bass, 72, of Crawford, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, April 21, 2013.
She was born April 12, 1941 to Tom and Doris (Rising) Hamaker in Crawford, NE. Reba graduated from Crawford high school with the class of 1959. Throughout her life, she worked as a telephone operator and a librarian at the public library. She worked at Galey’s Little Store until they closed. She then became a clerk at Herren Brothers where she worked until retirement.
On February 5, 1961 Reba was united in marriage to Don Bass. Reba was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She looked forward to family gatherings and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with friends. Her three grandsons, Brayden, Travon and Keagen, were her pride and joy. She spent countless hours spoiling them.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Hamaker and sister-in-law, Yvonne Bass.
She is survived by her husband, Don, her two sons, Brooke (Jody) of Crawford, Damon (Tawnya) of Alliance, her mother, Doris Hamaker of Crawford, her sister, Zoleta (Gary) Galey of Crawford, brother-in-law, Dean Bass of DeWitt, NE and three grandsons.
Memorials have been established for the Crawford Public Library and the Alliance and Crawford Volunteer Fire Departments. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
