Clik here to view.Bayone Kay (Stenson) Meyer, 77, died Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Hospice House of the Hills in Rapid City, South Dakota.
She was born April 7, 1937, at Winner, SD, to Alex and Beulah (Putzier) Stenson. On May 29, 1955, she married Warren Meyer in Colome, SD. Bayone wrote for the Winner Advocate for several years and was a bookkeeper for Warren Electric. She served the city of Alliance for 25+ years as Director of R.S.V.P. from 1978-2002 and supervised the Box Butte County Public Transportation & Handyman Services from 2002-2013.
Survivors include her children: son, Glen and wife, Nancy, Meyer of Rapid City, SD; son, Ben and wife, Amanda Wright of Lincoln, NE; son, Wade and wife, Lisa Meyer of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Bethanie Grass of Omaha, NE; son, Kent Meyer of Gatesville, TX, and son, Troy Meyer of Alliance, NE; 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Douglas Stenson and wife, Jeanne; sister, DeEtte Elliott and husband, Merle; and sister, Betty Nance; two sister-in-laws, Joan Stenson and Nancy Stenson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Warren, daughter, DeOnne; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Charles, William, Stanford, and Randal Stenson;
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 25 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Martin Schnare and Rev. Richard Mueller officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alliance on Sunday, August 24, from 6:30-8:30pm. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Immanuel Lutheran School in Alliance.
