Dylan Donald “Buster” Peters, 19, of Scottsbluff, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Lake Minatare.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Mitchell Berean Church at Mitchell with Pastor Barry Holbrook officiating.  Interment will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with military honors provided by the Nebraska Army National Guard.

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff.  Memorials may be made to the Buster Peters Memorial  Fund.  Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com

Dylan was born September 27, 1994, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Douglas Peters and Terresa Romey.  He attended school at Lake Alice, Mitchell Elementary, and graduated from Mitchell High School.  He was attending Central Community College where he made the Dean’s List and was scheduled to graduate in May 2015.

He was serving in the Nebraska Army National Guard and was heavily involved in 4-H.  His accomplishments included playing the French Horn (but he preferred playing the Trumpet in school,) he had the honor of representing Scotts Bluff County at National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia, he represented Mitchell High School  at Quiz Bowl Competitions,  and was chosen to attend People to People Ambassador Program.

He enjoyed pole vaulting in high school, and the outdoors.  He loved wrestling with his Grandpa Romey, he always said, “It kept him young.”

Dylan was an easy going young man, hardworking, great personality, everyone’s friend, loved by all, had a great heart.  Buster’s smile was infectious!  He was on his way to achieve his many goals.  He loved racing and hanging out with “Romey”.  Buster loved his family and friends.

Survivors include his father, Douglas (Cheryl) Peters; mother, Terresa Romey; brother, Dustin D. Peters; sisters, Janessa Darst and Jessica Darst; grandparents, Donald and Joanna Romey, Donald Peters and special friend, Jeanne Murray, Charlene and Ed Beebe, Kim Franco, and Larry Delgado and special friend, Anita Chadwick; great-grandmother, Christine Peters; nieces Madalynn Darst and Adriana Mendez; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by “Romey” Chris Romey, cousin by blood, brother by heart; and great-grandparents, Gus and Julia Romey, John and Louise Houk, Glen Peters, and Jack and Lorraine Hopkins.
