Katherine Ross, 98, of Bayard, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, in the Bayard Cemetery at Bayard with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. Memorials have been established to Chimney Rock Villa and Prairie Haven Hospice. Katherine was born May 4, 1914, to Adam and Katherine (Schriener) Fischer in Wisconsin. Her family moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado when Katherine was a young child. She attended school in Fort Morgan.
Katherine moved to Bayard, Nebraska where she met and married George Nagel in 1934. They farmed east of Bayard until George passed away in 1954.
Katherine moved to Denver, Colorado where she met and married William Ross in 1956. William was a machinist and they enjoyed traveling. After William passed away in 1979, Katherine moved to an apartment in Northglenn, Colorado where she enjoyed making ceramics and crocheting.
In September of 2007, Katherine became a resident at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard, where she resided until her passing.
Survivors include her sisters, Esther Huber of Scottsbluff and Lydia Welz of San Diego, California; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Lou and Polly Green and family of Denver, Colorado.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, three sisters, and husbands, George Nagel and William Ross.
