IOLA TRICKLER, 83

Iola M. Trickler, 83, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.

She was born May 14, 1930 at Hemingford, NE to Marcus and Verna (Reigle) Schekall.

On September 26, 1947 she was united in marriage to Edward John “Bill” Trickler in Papillion, NE.  Following their marriage they lived in Chadron, Sidney and Hemingford before moving to Sacramento, CA in 1964.   While there Iola worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles.  In 1976 they returned to Hemingford.  She then worked in the purchasing department of BBGH.  In 1982 she began working for the Abbott Bank in Hemingford and worked there until her retirement.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge.

Her survivors include her children and their spouses, Edward and Karen Trickler of Alliance, Lynda and Ron Novotny of Hemingford, Ann and Steve Wessel of Bayard, Julie Trickler of Albany, OR and William “Bill” and Kim Trickler of Sheridan, AR.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Laura, Bob, Stephine, Jennifer, Vanessa, Jeffery, Tara, Ariel and Donald, and her great-grandchildren, Sara, Rebecca, Rachel, Shawn, Melissa, Thomas, Ashley, Samantha, Austin, Savannah, Suzanne, Ruby, Katelyn, Benjamin and Ella, and a great-great-grandchild, Conner.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Donna Schekall and Lorraine Hucke of Hemingford and Melba Dam of Sidney, and brother-in-law, Donald Trickler of Ft. Meyer, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Daniel and her brother, Joe Schekall.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hemingford with Pastor Teri Lucas officiating.  Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Hemingford.

Memorials may be given to the Hemingford United Methodist Church, Prairie Haven Hospice or Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
