RoseMary Rodgers, 67, of Hemingford, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO.
Rosie was born in Grafton, ND on October 14, 1946. Her family remained in Grafton throughout her childhood and she graduated from Grafton High School in 1964. On October 31, 1964 she was united in marriage to William J. Rodgers. To this union three children were born.
While raising her children, Rosie found career success initially in retail management. During this time, she was able to ‘go to market’ in Minneapolis, MN to purchase the next seasons garments for local high end retailers. A later career change to property management eventually led to her earning her real estate license. In 1989, she moved to Minneapolis where she continued working in property management. Upon retiring in 2011, Rosie moved to Hemingford, NE to be near her grandchildren. Skilled at sewing, embroidery, painting ceramics, or anything crafty, Rosie was passionate about her hobbies of landscaping, gardening, and researching genealogies of friends and family. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Hemingford.
Rosie will be missed by her children, William Rodgers, II of Randall, MN, Brenda (John) Brown of Austin, TX and Rebecca (Joe) Thompson of Alliance; her grandchildren, William “Willy” Rodgers III, Ian, Logan and Tate Thompson and Makela Brown; brother, Dean Ebertowski of Minto, ND; sisters, Shirley Ebertowski and Joyce Anderson of Grand Forks, ND, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Dennis, her parents Ed and Ruth Ebertowski, and her ex-husband.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Hemingford with Father Lou Nollette officiating. A wake service will be Monday at 6:00 p.m. at St. Bridget Church. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Monday afternoon until 4:00 at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Hemingford and at the wake service.
The family has established a memorial for the beautification of the Box Butte County Fairgrounds which Rosie was planning on starting this spring. Memorials may be sent in care of Rebecca Thompson, 4480 310 Trail, Alliance, NE 69301.
