Funeral services for Martha Ann Keim of Chadron, Nebraska will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Chamberlain Chapel at 11:00 am with Leroy Sandford, Virginia Clebb, and Doug Ogden officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Martha was born on July 12, 1927 in Chadron, Nebraska. She attended Beaver Valley School in rural Sheridan County through the 8th grade. She attended the Assumption Academy through her high school years and graduated in 1945. Martha married Franklin H. Keim on October 16, 1948 in Alliance, Nebraska. To this union were born seven children. The couple farmed and ranched in the Chadron area from north of Crawford to southeast of Chadron to North of Hay Springs to semi-retirement in a nice house in Chadron, Nebraska. Martha enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, embroidery, cooking and her grandchildren.
Martha is survived by her husband Franklin H. Keim of Chadron; Sister, Agnes Marie Burgess of Hot Springs, South Dakota; five children, Loren Ray (Mary Alice) Keim of Palmyra, New York, Beverly Ann (Larry) Wilhoit of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Juanita Rose (David) Hottell of Kimball, Nebraska; Franklin Harvey (Deb) Keim of Tecumseh, Nebraska; Son-in-law Jim Jackson of Hay Springs, Nebraska and Bruce Allen Keim (Keith Courier) of San Francisco, California; 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and numerous special-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her two children, Larry Lee Keim and Leanna Sue Jackson; two brothers Leo and Richard Gochnauer; five sisters Marguerite Woods, Lorretta Maples, Mercedes Dexter, Jeanette Chasek, and Bernyce Shaeffer.
A memorial has been established for the Chadron Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
