Memorial services with military honors for Dick (Richard) Evans will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak & Cutler Funeral Home in Omaha, Nebraska.
A time of sharing for family and friends will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday at Heafey’s. A private family inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.
Dick (Richard) M. Evans, 66, of Chadron died Saturday, November 30th home. Dick was born July 19, 1947, in Pana, Illinois.
Survived by his wife, Mary Dee of Chadron; daughters, Tammy Morris (Jim) of Aurora, NE; Christa Evans of Omaha; and Debbie Orduna (Jason) of Omaha; Brother Paul Evans (Lynne) of Etowah, North Carolina; sister Linda Evans (Eric) of Sacramento, California; and eight grand-children.
Dick served in the United States Army and is a Vietnam War Veteran. He started his bricklaying career in 1970 and was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local #1 for over 40 years. Dick worked at Pine Ridge Job Corps as the Masonry Instructor for 14 years and retired in 2010.
A memorial has been established for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
