ELLA GALYEN, 81, ALLIANCE

Ella Marie (Kutschara) Galyen, 81, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Alliance, NE.

She was born in a farm house south of Hay Springs, NE on January 29, 1932, to Dale and Nona (Eitler) Kutschara.

On November 6, 1949, she was united in marriage to Delmer Galyen at the First Christian Church in Alliance, NE.   Following their marriage, they lived in Alliance, NE for a short time before they moved to their family farm south of Hay Springs, NE.  Ella was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Ella worked side by side with her husband, Delmer. She enjoyed every aspect of their farm life.  As a life- long resident of rural Hay Springs, she was dedicated to her family, friends, and community.   Her greatest joy was when she was generously helping others.  Ella loved her family very much. Gatherings with her were always memorable.   She enjoyed the companionship with her dear friends Margaret Walgren, Margaret Bork, Margaret Raymer, Kathy Voss, and Naomi Rezek during their weekly  Wednesday coffee group.  Auctions and garage sale were often a special treat for her.

She is survived by her children, Diana and Jim Hladik of Norfolk, NE, JoElla and Alvin Fritzler of Alliance NE, Larry and Deborah Galyen of Cheyenne, WY, Richard Swanson, of Crawford, NE, and her sister, Margaret Raymer of Hay Springs, NE.  Ella’s grandchildren include,  Leanna Johnson, Tawnya Bass,  Makayla Solis,  Melissa Heinrich, Misty Evert, Chance Fritzler, David Galyen, Tami Galyen, and  Michelle Drabbels.  Ella also was blessed to have 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dale and Nona Kutschara, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Delmer Galyen, and her brother-in-law, Martin Raymer.

Memorial services will be Friday, April 5, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hay Springs, NE.   Burial will be at the Hay Springs Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Galyen family at 6050 Keith Road, Alliance, Ne, 69301 and a donation will be given to the Hay Springs Volunteer Fire Department and the Zion Lutheran Church.
