Margaret “Peg” (Boness) Romick passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her and holding her hands at 2:30 pm on August 13, 2016.
She was born on December 20, 1937, Peg went to be with our Lord at the age of 78 years. She was preceded in death by her two newborn baby boys, Timothy Paul Colerick and Shaun Paul Colerick, and her parents Louise and Jake Boness
Married September 1, 1973, she is survived by her amazing and solid husband of 43 years, Tom Romick.
She was the loving mom of three surviving sons: Steve Colerick of Sterling CO, Jeff Colerick of Oceanside CA, and Pat Colerick of Colleyville TX., and daughters-in-law Cheryl Colerick, Vicki Colerick, and Rosemary Pierce Colerick
Peg will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Stephanie Colerick Saylor, Kevin Colerick, Brandon Colerick, Alexandria Schenk Colerick, Chase Colerick, Jacob Colerick, Connor Colerick and Courtney Colerick, and her brother, Dick Boness.
Peg graduated in 1955 from Saint Agnes Academy and was a remembered as a fun loving cheerleader and volleyball teammate. She was retired from the Nebraska Brand Commission as Assistant Executive Director after 33 years of service to the cattle industry. She raised three ornery boys as a single mother, until her life blossomed when she married the love of her life ,Tom Romick, on September 1, 1973. A life-long member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, she was very proud of their marriage being blessed by the Catholic Church, and they enjoyed 43 wonderful and adventurous years together.
Peg was a no-nonsense, no-drama, even natured person. She will always be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. Peg never complained, even during her difficult six year fight with cancer. She never said a bad word about anyone, judged nobody, and was never angry. Peg loved being at home with Tom and their dogs, going to church, cooking in her kitchen, and attending their Route 385 Cruiser car club events. She will be missed, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Wake services will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5 :00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home and at the wake service.
