Myrna Marie (Thomas) Fredrick, 71

Fredrick

Myrna Marie (Thomas) Fredrick passed away at her home early Wednesday morning, June 8, 2016.  She just celebrated her 71st birthday. Myrna was born on May 18, 1945 at her family’s farm in Box Butte County.  Her parents were Russell & Audrey (Rohrbouck) Thomas.

She graduated from Alliance High School in 1963.  She married Dale Wayne Fredrick and they are the parents of one daughter, Robi Ann (Fredrick) Heldenbrand.

Her first job was working with her family’s harvest crew.  She was a waitress for most of her life, working at the Rancho Cafe & Elm Grill.  She worked for 10 years at Kmart as a staff trainer and also had her own business with Home Interior & Gifts.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, The Red Hat Society, and  volunteered at Good Samaritan with Bingo.  She helped with the American Cancer Society fundraising and was active in extracurricular activities at St. Agnes Academy.

Myrna was proud of the fact that she lived in Alliance and was always proud about what a wonderful town she lived in.  She loved her family very much and had many good friends.  She met for lunch with her classmates from AHS every month.  Her true pride and joy were her grand kids.

She is survived by her husband Dale; her daughter, Robi Ann (Tod) Heldenbrand; her sisters, Linda Oak and Betty Jo Garett, all of Alliance, Nebraska;  Eric Lenz (son of her heart) of Guernsey, WY; her grandchildren, Tristan Heldenbrand of Alliance, Mattie Lee (Shawn) Wilkins of Fayetteville, AR, Matthew (Desire) Heldenbrand of San Antonio, TX, Brandon Lenz of Alliance; and her great-grandchildren, Logan and Levon. She is also survived by her nieces, Misty Oak,  Danica Breen and Sara Fredrick; her nephews, Calob Garett, Richard Fredrick and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law,  Glen Oak and grandson, Brady Lenz.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Father John Kakkuzhiyil will officiate.  Wake services will be held Monday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the church.  Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be sent in care of the family at, 304 West 4th Street, Alliance, Nebraska, 69301, for a memorial to be established at a later date.
