Mom had a hard battle and placed her hands in God’s hands and went to heaven on June 2, 2016. Mom was survived by her husband Kenneth D. Marlatt and her four beautiful children who stood by her side until the end. Now she is at peace and forever free of pain.
The United State Air Force took them to many different places as; Nevada; Kansas, Minnesota, Korea and Vietnam and finally a place they called home, Chadron, Nebraska. Kenneth D. Marlatt retired from the Air Force with 26 years of active duty.
Beverly Jean Marlatt (our mother) took several jobs during her life time that included; cafeteria work; sold Avon, and enjoyed working for K-Mart where she retired after 20 years of devoted service. She worked at Camp Norwesca for 7 years and will always be remembered for her loyalty and hard work. She took on a lot of voluntary work for which she loved very much. Flowers and dancing was mom’s favorite things to do. She had many friends and extended family that loved her as much as she loved them. Mom made friends where ever she went.
Within this loving marriage of 60 years; four children were born; Kenneth V. Marlatt (Amy); Carolyn A. Bronson (Denton); Susan J. Coleman (George); Kimberly K. Richards (Gary); seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was survived by her sisters, Betty Reeves (Melvin – Deceased) and Bonnie (Bob) Burton who loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Don, brother Hap
(Lavern) and her twin brother Bobby who were waiting with open arms.
We would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the Staff at Hospice here in Chadron for their loving care and for the many hours of devoted love that they shared with our mother and family.
“ Mom …you will always be our “Wings Beneath Our Wings”! We will miss you, but God will send us wings some day so we can all be together once again. We know that you are in a better place right now… dancing and planting flowers. Mama you left us with your heart, compassion for life and all your love. .
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association and the Hospice Service of Chadron Community Hospital.
