Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church in Rushville, Ne with Pastor Fred Andersen officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery next to her lifelong friend Ardis Stava Webb.
Pearle Walgren, 88 of Rushville, Ne, passed away May 10th, 2013 at Chadron Community Hospital.
She was born September 4th, 1924 to Herman and Isabel (Lehman) Wellnitz. She grew up on the family ranch north of Rushville, along with her sisters Myrtle, and Marybelle. She grew up loving the country way of life. She attended country school riding her horse to school every day. She graduated from Rushville High School in 1941 and went to work for JC Penny in Rushville. She later worked for Stockmen’s National Bank.
Pearle loved to dance and when she danced with Gerald at the old theater building in Rushville, he was off the market. They were united in marriage on June 8, 1947. To this union were born two daughters, Ginger and Jill.
Gerald and Pearle moved to their current home north of Rushville on White Clay Creek in November 1947. Pearle enjoyed gardening, growing her numerous varieties of flowers, and spending time with her family and many friends. Her coffee pot was always on and she loved visiting over her kitchen table. She was a wonderful cook and was never at a loss when it came to putting a meal on the table. She thoroughly enjoyed having her grandsons spend part of their summers on the ranch. Christmas with family and friends was always filled with good food, laughter, and fun memories for her. She truly loved her home and never wanted to leave it for long periods.
She volunteered at the Sheridan County Fair for several years checking in the Flower exhibits. She was a 4-H leader and was ta president of Cow Belles. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing most of the clothes for the girls. In order to use up all of her several scrapes, she later took up quilting. She made several quilts over the years of all different sizes giving most of them away.
She is survived by husband Gerald, daughter Ginger and husband Eldon of Arapahoe, Ne, and daughter Jill of Scottsbluff, Ne. Grandsons Ryan and wife Tina of Waverly, Ne, and Jeremy and wife Tyas of Ames, Ia. Great grandchildren Kolbee and Keaton Kroemer of Waverly, Ne.
She was preceded in death by parents Herman and Isabel Wellnitz and sister Myrtle Roffers.
A memorial has been established to the Rushville Volunteer Fire Department.
