In 2001 he moved to Harrison, NE where he worked in ranching.  He married Kelly J. Butler on October 27, 2004 in Scottsbluff, NE.  He would then move to Tennessee where he managed and operated an elk and buffalo ranch for 6 years before returning to Nebraska to work back in ranching.
