Edward L. Taylor, 75, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Box Butte General Hospital.
He was born March 7, 1940 at York County, Pennsylvania to Charles L. and Esther E. (Fry) Taylor.
Ed served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1962. He later began working for the Woolrich Company in Alliance, retiring in 1996 as Plant Manager.
He married Lana L. Benigno on January 2, 1991 in Golden, Colorado.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks, a member of the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Alliance Rifle Club Association and the National Rifle Association. Over the years Ed always had an interest in flying and still held his pilot’s license. He also enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, photography and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Lana Taylor of Alliance; his children, Kimberly (Bob) Oliver of Lancaster, PA, Scott (Gail) Taylor of Conestoga, PA, and Stacia Taylor of Westminster, CO; his step-children, Nicholas Benigno of Alliance, and Nicole Benigno of Chadron. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew Oliver, Nicole Oliver, Maddie Taylor, Jacob Benigno, Corbin Benigno, and Sawyer Benigno; and his sisters, Frances (Tank) Holt of East Berlin, PA, and Sandra (Ken) Kershaw of Hanover, PA; and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Steven L. Taylor.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance. Pastor James Rowe will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in care of the family at, 2027 Box Butte Avenue, Alliance, Nebraska, 69301, for a future memorial designation.
