Maurice E. “Maury” Green passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Highland Park Care Center.
He was born on July 5, 1931 in Broadwater, NE to William O. and Mary E. (Low) Green.
On August 5, 1950 he was united in marriage to Jurene Powell in Bridgeport, NE.
Maury worked for the telephone company for 37 years. After retiring he started his own business, Green’s Phone Service which he operated for 25 years. He was a member of the Eagles and worked with Old Timers Baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jurene, his children, Michael (Marsha) Green of Scottsbluff, Gwendolyn (Stephen) Schnell of Broomfield, CO, Maurene Garner (Jim Power) of North Platte and Bradley Green of Alliance. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and his brother, Dorance Green of Littleton, CO.
Maury was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 3 brothers and 1 great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alliance Old Timers Baseball.
At Maury’s request there will be no service at this time.
