Jack W. H. Crouch, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 13, 2015, after a battle with cancer.
Jack was born on March 9, 1930, on the family dairy farm to Claude E. and Alice I. (Andrews) Crouch, in Broken Bow, NE.
Jack attended and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1947. He joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1953.
He and Betty met in O’Neill, NE and were married in Norfolk, NE on November 24, 1 954.
Jack retired from BNSF in 1995 and was active in the United Methodist Church, Methodist Men, Eagles, Elks, American Legion, Scotish Rite, Masons, RSVP, and BNSF Vets. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, travel, Husker football, playing cards, and especially spending time with his family and his pets. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and being fun to be around.
Jack is survived by his wife Betty, of 60 years, of which he was very proud, and their 4 children Patricia Bentley, of North Platte, NE, Michael (Jackie) Crouch of Fort Worth, TX, Judith (Charles) Koch of Hershey, NE, and Brian Crouch of Alliance. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Christiansen, Lane Bentley, Kyle Koch, Kurtis Koch, Kendall(Christina) Koch, Kate (Christopher) Waudby, Mariabella Crouch and Tiffany Leever, and his 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters.In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Alliance United Methodist Church, Prairie Haven Hospice or the donor’s choice.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Alliance United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Lucas officiating. Inurnment will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, near Maxwell, NE.
