Tadashi “Tad” Nagaki, 93, died April 22, 2013 at his home in Broomfield, CO.
He was born January 25, 1920 in Bayard, NE to Minosuke and Shige (Kato) Nagaki.
He married Asako “Butch” Nakazono on January 26, 1947. To this union three sons were born, Robert, Richard, and David (Cindy).
Tad was drafted in the United States Army in 1941. He was a member of the elite team of Nisei in the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Detachment 101. He was honorably discharged in 1946, receiving numerous metals.
After Tad served his country he farmed around the Alliance area with his three brothers, Akira (Skeets) Nagaki, Yoshio (Frank) Nagaki, Masakazu (Ma) Nagaki and brother-in-law Harry Nakatsu. Farming was not only his way of life but also his passion.
He is survived by his grandsons, Jason (Lisa) Nagaki of Castle Rock, CO and Ryan (Amy) Nagaki of Broomfield, CO; his great grandchildren, Dylan, Lanie, Keara, Cameron, Ally, and Nolan; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Stone of Hemingford, his sisters-in-law, Alice Nagaki, Mary Nagaki, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sons, 3 brother, and 2 sisters.
Memorials may be sent in care of the family to 1014 E 17th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020.
Memorial services will be Monday, April 29, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with burial in the Alliance Cemetery.
