Dorothy Fritzler, 84, passed away April 18, 2013 at Box Butte General Hospital with her loving family beside her.
Dorothy was born March 6, 1929 to Adam and Mollie (Bort) Nuss in Cozad, NE. She married Alex Fritzler in 1946 at Scottsbluff. She was a loving farmer’s wife, mother and homemaker for 66 plus years in the Alliance area. She worked briefly at Woolrich after they moved into Alliance from the farm. She was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on their Alter Guild and the Lydia Circle.
Dorothy’s survivors include her children, Geri & Lorin Anthony, Sidney, NE, Richard & Barbara Fritzler, Alvin & JoElla Fritzler, and Allan Fritzler all of Alliance, NE.
Her grandchildren include Mike & Cary Anthony, Lincoln, NE, David & Katie Anthony, McCook, NE, Bill & Mary Fritzler, Grand Island, NE, Angie & Kurt Knudsen & Sommer Fritzler, Alliance, NE, Courtney & Brian Bucholtz, Jamestown, ND, Michele & Adam Simpson, Lakewood, CO, Valerie & Erik Adams, Alliance, NE, Adam Fritzler, Lincoln, NE, Andrea & Nathan Sterzer, Bayard, NE, Chance Fritzler, Gillette, WY, Melissa and Brian Heinrich & Misty and Jeremy Evert, Alliance, NE, Kristy & Rick Moffett, Wood River, NE, Kory & Russ Knight, Gering, NE, Lee & Elizabeth Fritzler, Alliance, NE, and Mark & Erin Fritzler, Hemingford, NE; 28 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Schnell of Alliance and Lorraine (Ray) Chapman of Henry, NE and brother-in-law, Fred (Peggy) Fritzler and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life–her husband of 60 years Alex Fritzler. She was also preceded in death by her brother Julius Nuss and sisters Eleanor & husband Jack Butler, Margie & husband Dean Lindhorst, Meldy and husband Bert Bertram, and brother-in-law Pete Schnell.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. April 23, 2013 at the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Alliance with Reverend Martin T. Schnare and Reverend Richard C. Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Dialysis Unit at Box Butte General Hospital.
