Harold M Anderson, 86 passed away July 8, 2014 at Westminster, CO.
Harold was born Sept 26, 1927 to John and Nellie (McGowan) Anderson at Clinic Hospital York, Nebraska. He lived on a farm southwest of York until he was 15 years old. He then moved to the farm at 1003 Recharge Road until the left for college. He attended Country School #17 and graduated from York High School in 1945 where he played Football and was President of the Boosters Club.
After graduating from York High School he enlisted in the Navy and was a member of the decommission crew of the USS Casablanca 1945-1946.
After leaving Naval Service, he attended University of Nebraska in 1946 and graduated June 6, 1950 earning a degree in Agriculture.
Harold was united in marriage to Lois Meyer at Mount Calvary Lutheran church in Omaha Ne. on June 14, 1952.
In 1952 he went to work for Farmer’s Home Administration in Fairbury, Ne. Later this year he was transferred to Broken Bow, Ne with the Farmer’s Home Administration where he lived until 1971. In 1971 he became a District Director for FHA and was based in Alliance, NE. After 33 years of service with FHA he retired in 1984.
His passion for life was Golf (lefty) and Football (GO BIG RED).
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; and two sons, Ronn and John; his parents, a brother, Richard; a sister, Elaine; two sister-in-laws Ellen(Meyer)Kaeding and Marian(Meyer)McClure.
He is survived by his daughters, Sue Schrader of Northglenn, Co and Gail Mears of Littleton, Co, grandchildren, Andrea Mears, John Mears and Wife (Jenny), Samantha Schrader, and Ryan Schrader and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Mansfield, brothers-in-law, Jerome Leininger and Wayne Kaeding, two nephews, Mike and Dan Leininger and 3 nieces, Jeri(Leininger)Cunningham, Barb(Kaeding) Duncanson and Mary McClure.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father John Kakkuzhiyil officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
