Brandy Self, 38, of Gering, died peacefully, Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Presbyterian /St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver following a battle with cancer.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2013, at Assembly of God Church in Minatare with Pastor Paul Maunu officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Per Brandy’s request, if anyone wants to wear jeans, they are more than welcome.
Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. A memorial has been established to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com
Brandy was born March 27, 1975, in Springfield, Missouri to William and Carol (McGee) Self. She lived a short time in Missouri before moving to Nebraska where she spent the rest of her life. She graduated from the Minatare High School in 1993. Her main passion was her two nieces and her day care service. Brandy loved her family and friends. She always had a big smile and a laugh for everyone. She was so loved in life and will be loved in death.
Survivors include her parents, William and Carol Self; sister, Virginia (Josh) Mendoza; two nieces, Brandelynn and CyAnn Mendoza; maternal grandparents, Larry and Mary Harman of Marshfield, Missouri; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brandy was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bill McGee; grandparents, William Sr. and Mattie Self; and other family members.
