Donna Ledbetter, 86, of Torrington, Wyoming, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away, Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Goshen Care Center in Torrington.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport with the Reverend Jonathan Berosek officiating. Interment will follow in Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport.
Friends may visit from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at Bridgeport Memorial Chapel. Memorials have been established to First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport and Prairie Haven Hospice. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.bbchapels.com
Donna was born May 23, 1927, at Sutherland, Nebraska to Andrew and Mabel (Krab) Sillasen. She attended grade school at Keystone, graduating from the Ogallala High School in 1945. On August 8, 1947, she married Herb Ledbetter at Messiah Lutheran Church in Paxton. They lived at Chappell before moving to Bridgeport in 1955.
Donna was active in the Happy Hour Extension Club and was a 50 year member. She loved playing cards and belonged to several bridge clubs. She belonged to Eastern Star and was Guardian of Jobs Daughters for many years. Donna was also Building Superintendent at Morrill County Fair. She was a member of the Deacons and served on Session at First Presbyterian Church.
Donna loved her grandchildren and spent many hours with them, playing cards and board games.
Survivors include her children, Debbie (Ron) Houston of Bridgeport, Patty Genoways (Larry Schledewitz) of Broadwater, and Terri (Sam) Cochran of Torrington; grandchildren, Brian (Camela) Houston, Amy (Doug) Olson, Heather (Chris) Gage, Garth Genoways, Heidi Walker, Beau (Jarah) Johnson, and Robin (Dirk) Vanatta; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herb, her parents, and son-in-law, Wally Genoways.
