Dr. Brook Matthew Bowhay, 52, of Scottsbluff, entered into rest Thursday (April 3, 2014) at the Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, after a brief illness. His memorial funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Scotts Bluff County Event Center in Mitchell with Father Mark Selvey officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the St. Francis Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff.
Brook was born April 17, 1961 at Alliance to Marvin and Jane (Buchfinck) Bowhay where he grew up and graduated from Alliance High School. He received his Associate Degree at Nebraska Western College in Scottsbluff, and then moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where he graduated from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1985. He married Mary Beth Wheeler on May 25, 1985 at Alliance. Brook and Mary Beth then joined Dr. Lee Teigen at Bluffs Chiropractic Clinic in Scottsbluff, which they have owned and operated since. Brook was very active in 4-H, coached softball and trap, and was an avid hunter and golfer.
Brook is survived by his wife Dr. Mary Beth Wheeler of Scottsbluff; daughters Ari Bowhay, Kira Bowhay and her fiancé Bryant Gilbert, all of Eagan, Minnesota; mother Jane Bowhay of Scottsbluff; brother Scott (Polly) Bowhay of Lincoln; mother and father-in-law Ron and Lois Ann Wheeler of Dallas, Wisconsin; sisters-in-law Rhonda (Terry) Olson and Julie Cole both of Dallas, Wisconsin; brothers-in-law Blaine (Amy) Wheeler of Chetek, Wisconsin, and Steve (Kim) Ness of Barron, Wisconsin; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of great friends.
Brook was preceded in death by his father Marv Bowhay, Aunt Betty Dietrich, and Aunt Julie Hartman.
