SUSANNAH RUDLOFF, 87, CRAWFORD

Susannah RudloffFuneral services for Susannah Rudloff, 87, of Crawford, Nebraska will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Susie Rudloff of Whitney, Nebraska died on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Ponderosa Villa Nursing Home in Crawford, Nebraska.

She was born February 27, 1926, in Powell, South Dakota to Henry and Clara Buchholz.  She was the youngest of four children.  She graduated high school in Hill City, South Dakota.  After high school, she hired on at the Burlington Northern Railroad as an agent.  She worked for the railroad from 1946 to 1972.  During that time her job took her all over the Black Hills and Panhandle of Nebraska area.  While working in Crawford, Nebraska she met Herman Rudloff at a dance.  They were married December 27, 1948.  To this union seven children were born.  They spent their years together living and farming in the Whitney area.  Susie work as postmistress at the Whitney Post office for several years.

Susie enjoyed bowling and playing cards at the Eagles.  She liked to sew, knit, and crochet.  She also loved spending time with her family.  She spent time playing cards, board games, and putting puzzles together with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Susie spent her last years at Ponderosa Villa in Crawford where everyone said she was so sweet and had a smile for all.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman, son Chris, niece Misty, her parents and two brothers.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Sandy) Rudloff; Gary (Kim) Rudloff; Wayne (Marie) Rudloff; Nick (Mary) Rudloff; Sonya (Larry) Rising and Russ (Fayda) Rudloff; a sister Belle Wetmore of El Cahon, California; 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established for the Crawford Rescue Unit or the Ponderosa Villa.  Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE  69337
