William “Bill” Ditsch, 68

William V. “Bill” Ditsch, 68, died Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home.

He was born June 26, 1949 in Alliance, Nebraska to Robert L. and
Eva E. (Madden) Ditsch.

Following his high school graduation, Bill worked on the family farm
before joining the United States Army and serving his country during
the Vietnam War.  He later returned to Alliance where he began working
at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.  He married Dianna K.
Bolinger on May 28, 1977 in Alliance.  Bill remained working for the
railroad until his retirement after more than 30 years of service.

He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman, but especially
was a loving grandfather.  He was a member of the Church of Christ, the
American Legion, VFW and a past member of the Alliance Volunteer Fire
Department.

He is survived by his daughter, April Tilden of Lincoln; and his grandchildren,
Denny Garza, Traven Tilden, McKena Tilden, Trian Tilden and Alijah DuBray.
He is also survived by his mother, Eva Ditsch of Alliance; his sisters, Kathy Rau
of Jacksonville, FL, Mary (Mike) Sherlock of Ogallala, and Barbara Rau, Betsy
(Tim) Krebs and Becky (Tom) Broeder all of Alliance; his brothers, Peter (Carol)
Ditsch of Alliance and Edward Ditsch of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and several
nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his father,
his wife Dianna and brother’s Thomas and Robert.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-
Gould Chapel.  Mr. Allen Bright will officiate.  Burial with military honors will
be in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday,
June 21, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.
